The residential and business location Bad Segeberg is developing in the north-east of the Hamburg metropolitan region. Together with Wahlstedt, the district capital forms the centre in the north-eastern district of Segeberg with a total population of approx. 28,000 people, around 13,000 workers and a commuter surplus of 3,000 people.<\/p>\n

The central location between Kiel, L\u00fcbeck, Neum\u00fcnster and Hamburg and the very good connections to these neighbouring cities via the A 21 (Kiel -> Hamburg) and the main roads B205 (Neum\u00fcnster), B206 (L\u00fcbeck), B432 (Baltic seaside resorts) as well as the planned expansion of the A20 make the location additionally interesting. Well-known companies have already made use of these advantages – the nationally known furniture store Kraft is just one example. Bad Segeberg is also very popular as a residential location due to its central location, the attractive landscape and the wide range of leisure facilities.<\/p>\n

RECREATION AND KARL MAY<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The large Segeberger See with an area of 1.726 km\u00b2 offers a high recreational value. It is about 8 walking minutes away from the city centre. Visitors will find a newly designed lake promenade (sun deck with deckchairs, Kneipp pool as floating jetty, open-air forest stage, playground on the southern shore of the lake), an outdoor pool and a boat rental service for pedal and rowing boats.
Thanks to the Karl May plays, Bad Segeberg is known throughout Germany and is a popular destination for excursions. Below the rock, the Karl May plays take place in summer on an open-air stage, where the Indian Winnetou and his blood brother Old Shatterhand experience their well-known adventures. In the summer, you can also visit the Indian Village, a replica of an 1880s Western town. Further attractions include the Noctalis bat adventure centre and the Kalkberg Cave. The latter was discovered by chance in 1912. It can be visited on a guided tour and is therefore the northernmost show cave in Germany, and at the same time the northernmost karst cave in Germany.<\/p>\n

Bad Segeberg presents a colourful cultural life all year round. During the summer, concerts from classical and folk music to jazz, art exhibitions, children’s theatre and much more characterise life in the town.<\/p>\n

Cultural highlights are the concerts within the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Bad Segeberg has made a name for itself as a regional equestrian town, especially with the state tournament of the riding and driving clubs.<\/p>\n
